Bows

This is my bow tying contraption. I saved the tubes that adding machine paper comes on. I then glued them together with hot glue. My husband sawed a piece of wood to anchor them to and I again used hot glue to glue them onto the piece of wood. I keep it in a drawer right next to me and I attache it to the drawer with velcro, that way it doesn't move at all when I use it. We bought a long dowel and DH cut the dowel to a usuable size. You can space the dowel whatever distance you want depending on how big your ribbon is. The pictures below show how I go about tying the bow. You wrap the ribbon around the dowels and cross them

Bring one end up and over the loops

Bring the ribbon down the other side

Tie a knot.

Tighten the knot.

And Voila! you have a bow!!!

Just slip the bow up off the dowels and and a few touches to straighten it out

Blue Masculine Birthday

As usual, coming up with Masculine cards is tough. I tend to rely on the standard darker colors like blues and browns, burgundy. I run stuff past my husband and he tells me whether it will be girlie or not. Boy he puts the kabosh on a lot of my fun ideas. NO FLOWERS!!!!, trees and leaves yes, flowers no. Go figure. Anyhooooo, this is kinda, sorta like another one I made previously but oh well. I looked up "Masculine cards" on SCS and will probably end up CASING some from there. TFL!!

Hoppy Frog

Ok, I absolutely love this frog. It made me so happy to stamp today after several cardmaking sessions without any stamping at all, it was so much fun to color. I made a baby card too that I was really happy with. Hope to post that tomorrow.
Meanwhile, this one just makes me "hoppy"! Penny Black stamp, SU corner punch, Scor-Pal. Hand wrote the sentiment.

Yellow and white Thanks

My friend Mela's neighborhood Michaels moved to a new location so they had a big sale on just about everything to closeout the store. She gave me a bunch of flowers and chrystals and all kinds of good stuff. So cool. The White flowers with yellow centers and brads were part of the package I received. Used a CB folder for the base square, my Cricut to cut out the Thanks, and the base yellow flower. Last but not least, my MS punch for the bottom edge.

Snow Snow Snow!

The snow actually isn't too bad. It looks really pretty, but will we be able to get out to the main road tomorrow since they do not plow the private roads. We'll see.

CAS #3 and #4

I again used my Cricut Home Decor Cartridge for Card #3. The frame is what drew me to that cartridge, you can use it in varying sizes for pictures too! I just like the look of it. The sentiment is one of the first stamps I bought at Stampa Rosa when I was taking classes there every month. Ahhhh, the good old days. I miss Stampa Rosa.
For Card #4 I used the CB Swirls Folder, my second favorite behind Swiss Dots, and my scor-pal. The flower and leaves are part of the Daisy Shapeabilitie die and embossing set. This is the largest of the 3 flower dies that come in the set. I am not really happy with them. They do not emboss very deeply. Now, the leaves do. I ran them thru with the "sandwich" and they came out beautiful the first time. I ran the daisies thru 4 times and I still had to emboss them by hand to show up. I also cut deeper on the petals to make them stand out. Oh well, live and learn. I am really into the CAS, but then I very rarely make really intricate multiple layer cards. TFL!!!

CAS Challenge #1

I had a wonderful time today playing with all my new "stuff". Wish there were more hours in my day today. I bought the New Cricut Home Accent Solution cartridge. The difference in a solution cartridge and a regular cartridge is less images, no box, no pamphlet showing the various functions. These have only three functions on each image. Regular, Shadow, and Blackout. But you know what? this cartridge ROCKS!!!
The image below is suppose to be really long. Well, I ran out of CS and it didn't cut out the bottom part. Who cares? it was perfect for my needs. Love those "Oops" that come out ok. I also got a couple of CB embossing folders with corresponding Dies. This little flower came with the Thanks dies. Now, one of my cricut cartridges has this same flower which I can cut in 11 different sizes, but not this small, so this is good. The whole card took 5 minutes to cut and adhere together. I love it when a plan comes together. I made 3 others which I will post later put I love this one.
