Here is the card that was posted on the SCS Facebook page.  It was for the Ways to Use it Challenge to use markers.... I chose to freehand watercolor some flower images.

Wow!  I am soooo happy!  I had not one but TWO of my cards listed as Favorites for the Week ending 9/15/2012 on Spitcoast Stampers and a the 3rd card I uploaded was featured on the SCS Facebook page.   Well, that makes me a happy camper and I will keep on stamping.

Trying to build up a stash of Baby cards.

Tuesday, August 28, 2012

I just love the woodgrain look.  I CASED this card but that's ok I guess, it is not an exact CASE at least.   I left off the sentiment for now, will put one on when the occaision arises.

Let's try this again, wiped out my last 2 posts and sent them to LaLa Land I guess.

Made 2 bookmarks for the Try a New Technique Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com.  Easy Peasy.  Cut a strip 2" x 11".  Fold in half, glue or sew the top 1/2 inch so that the bookmark doesn't open too much, then decorate.  Love it!

Wedding Card Challenge

Good afternoon!!!  It is HOT and no sign of it cooling down.  My husband was out cleaning the inside of the car but finally gave up and came inside.  Way too uncomfortable!
I finally found the time to work on the Wedding Card Challenge.  This is different for me.  I usually make all white or fru fru wedding cards.  I found this stencil when I was clening up my desk so I decided to use that as a base.

Stamps:  SU Happy Harmony
Ink:  Yoyo Yellow, Orange, Black
Paper:  White, Black
Accessories:  Ribbon (Joann's) Stencil (Club Scrap) Swiss Dots Embossing Folder

I made this card for the SCS Inspiration Challenge.  I am not enamored of it but at least I tried.  Here is where I got the inspiration. http://www.etsy.com/listing/72684014/spellbound-woods-handmade-vegan-artisan

This week's challenge

This week, because it has been sooooo hot everywhere, the weekly challenge was to make a card that is "cool".  I have had this stamp on my desk for a long time and thought I had better use it because I was tired of looking at it.  I do so love the little mouse and can just hear him saying " ahhhhhhhh!"  The sentiment is computer generated.  Thanks for looking! Oh, and Lisa, I figured out (I think) how to take of the word verification,  Let me know if it worked.

Card #3!  This was actually the 1st card I attempted to make and it just wouldn't come together.  I am not happy with the result, I should not have put the black ribbon on there and I should have stamped the sentiment in black.  Look Lisabella, PINK!!! LOL.

Card number 2 of my stash.   I was making this card for SCS color challenge which was to use Navy, Olive and White, but then I couldn't resist adding the yellow flower to make it really pop.  No stamps were used in the making of this card, alas.  I have got to get back to stamping not just cardmaking (big sigh).  Maybe tomorrow.

Yellow and Black!

Woohoo!  another stamping day.  What fun!  I bought 3 Tag stacks the other day at Michaels because they were in the clearance aisle. I didn't know what I was going to do with so many but they were on SALE!  What was I to do?  So here is the 1st of the 3 cards made.

My sister Janie came over one day and wanted to make some Christmas cards.  She reminded me that I wanted to start making Christmas cards early, so we agreed to spend an hour or so each month.  I only made 2 cards both more or less the same, but I guess that is better than nothing right?

I drew this little mouse quite some time ago and finally ran across this background DP to use with it.  The sentiment is cut out using my Cricut.

Card #3 of my Saturday day of stamping.  I used another piece I had sitting around forever, took all of ten minutes and that's the way it should be right?

Monday, July 2, 2012

This is card #2 of my day of stamping, this one was also an Easy Peasy card as I already had the pieces cut out and all I had to do was stamp the sentiment and sponge some color onto the medallion. Love how it all fell into place!

TA DAH!  My very first challenge card Lisa & Julie! I tried using the sketch you used Julie and this is what emerged.  I used the latest stack of DP that I got at Joanns, an old SU stamp set, some Tim Holtz distress ink for the edges, buttons and twine.  Easy Peasy.  TFL!

This is a "masculine" card.  Honest.  I love the bright colors and I get tired of doing earth tones (although I did do a brown one today, oh well!)

I am proud to say that Julie and Lisa inspired me to stamp, I completed 3 cards today and started on a fourth, I just have to glue the pieces together.  Whoopee!!!!!

Friday, June 29, 2012

I discovered that I never posted this particular card to this blog so here goes.  It went to my Mom for Mother's Day.  I used the Nesties that Bill gave me for Christmas.  Love that Rose Creations Die set.  I also used the new SU Die and Embossing set for the inside to tuck a check in...  I used the die to cut out the front for another card and had a little piece left over, so I used it for this card.  The leaves are cut by hand, the ferns using my Cricut, the small flowers using a MS flower punch.

So it has been a very long time since my last post.  I have been inspired by my friends Lisa & Julie to start doing some challenges. This is not a card I made LOL!  I will work on that tomorrow.  My sweetheart and I just celebrated our 32nd Anniversary and our neighbor Mary surprised us with a cake to celebrate the occasion, how sweet was that?

The challenge for this week is to do a Masculine card.  I remembered after I signed off with the girls that I had done 2 masculine cards the other day.  Tomorrows task will be to photograph and upload them, and maybe make another one.  You can never have too many guy cards right?

Happy Thursday

Happy Thursday!  It is a gloomy, rainy, generally blah day today.  We need a few flowers to brighten our day so here we go.
I used another 2 stamps from my new CTMH stamp sets, a piece of white cut out with my Cricut, cut in half and crimped.  I finally used the Large Dot embossing folder I just had to have, then never used.

Thank You Pealabella

My friend Pearl is a CTMH demontrator and she sent me this cute little stamp set.  I used the sentiment for this card and sent it to her.  Hope she likes it.  Thanks Pearl!

Hello from Boonie Land!

It has been so long since I posted.  It is not that I haven't been stamping, just not posting.  So here we go with some of my newest creations.  They are not all original creations, I have drawn inspirations from Splitcoaststampers but I had fun doing them
.
The weather has finally warmed up.  We had snow last week, and today it was in the mid 70's a definite improvement!

The card posted for today is actually an original.  I love the stripes and the little squares are cut with a die that I have had for ages and just got around to using.  No actual stamping, but a creation nevertheless.  The sentiment was cut using my Cricut Expression.

I am still rollin'!

More Copic work.  I used my new Gina K Design stamps, the sentiment is cut with the Cricut.  Easy Peasy
New Nestie Dies too! Need to figure out what sentiment to use.  I think this one could use a sheer ribbon along the side?

And yet another post! I'm on a roll.

I elected to do a challenge over on SCS.  This did not turn out like I envisioned it but that's ok.  I did learn something new, and probably everyone but me knew this, but I finally figured out how to do 2 different patterns on the same card in the direction that I wanted them.  I was always stumped because I wanted the pattern to go in one direction but if I had the card folded the "normal" way, it wouldn't fit in the Big Shot.  DUH! I finally figured out to flip the tabs of my multi platform, and sandwich the embossing folder into my card.   So simple.

Copics in the House

I have a looong way to go learning how to use these Copics.  I messed it up so badly I had to cut the image out but over all not too bad.  Had fun with it anyway.

Using up my odds and ends

The good news is I am still using up my stash of stuff that I stamped, embossed, colored, or cut out.  The bad news is I keep making more stuff and I have accumulated even MORE!!!  Maybe I should just donate the stuff I have on hand.  hmmmmm.

Flower Punch

I just love my new Matstack of DP.  Love the colors and the designs.
My wonderful hubby bought me various stamping goodies for Christmas.  A set of Copic Markers was at the top of list.  I am trying to figure out how to use them, because the backside of living in the back of beyond is there are no classes available since "Town" is 55 miles away and there aren't any classes available anywhere.  I will have to make do with Youtube tutorials.  Ahhh well.

This card required no coloring.  I used my new punch by EK Success.  It is a border punch and you are suppose to be able to just use a quiller to make the flower.  I did not like how it came out when I used the quiller so I cut each petal apart and glued them to a small circle in 2 layers.  I finished it off with a flower I had made earlier using my fringer and quiller.  The leaves were made using a Nestabilities Foliage Die.
