It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I had a good two days stamping and made a few cards. I am however, tearing my hair out and really muttering under my breath (and out loud too!) I used my CB Swiss Dots Embossing folder as you can see, but now I can't find the dang thing!!!!!! I vaguely remember sticking it in a folder or catalog, but if you could see the multitude of places I could have stuck it you would see why I am tearing my hair out.

I should just buy another one, as I don't see myself finding it anytime soon and I NEED it like right now. I'll put it on my list for next trip to town.

On to stamping. I made this one using the CB Christmas tree embossing folder. I lightly rubbed red and green chalk and you can't really tell in this photo but also used stickles to highlight various parts. I made 3 before I managed to lose my folder!

Christmas Box

Well I hope everyone had a very wonderful Thanksgiving. I am very thankful that we were able to get together with family and enjoy a wonderful time of food and fellowship. We celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas together as we aren't able to get together at Christmas time. This is a box made to hold standard 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 cards that I made for our DIL. The bow was made thanks to a tutorial on "Mainly flowers" blog. It was a type of "flower" bow I have made before, but never with cardstock. I learned years ago to make carnation type flowers with tissue paper using a similar method. TFL!!

Took a Class

I went to a cardmaking class at the LSS in town and these are two of the 4 cards we made. For some reason I did not take a photo of the other ones.
I really am happy with the Happy Birthday one and plan to CASE it using different colors of course. The buttons make it really heavy for sending via snail mail so maybe I will change it to paper buttons. We'll see.
The class was so much fun, but unfortunately with winter coming on and snow in our immediate future, classes will be out of the questions until spring.

Finally a Christmas Card

I was in a blue mode on Saturday I guess. I did do another red and white card the next day which I have yet to photograph. Well here is my 2ndChristmas card. I had better get going, have lots to do before Christmas. I picked up some nice DP at the LSS the other day. And I just enjoyed playing with it. Looks kind of washed out in the pic but a little better IRL.

Blue Birthday Card

I have been meaning to post this for a long time (over a month) but just didn't take the time to photograph it. I notice now that I have a coffee stain on the top. Pretend it's not there! LOL! I made this card for my hubby's birthday and of course making a man card is hard for me. Very simple card. Background Tree stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms and fitting because DH bought it for me. He loves that website as it has a Wish List and it has fast shipping service. He keeps telling me to choose from there for gifts and to keep my list updated. Another site he likes is HMStamps. Fast efficient service.

Black and Blue I see you

I really hate my computer sometimes. Or rather, I hate Windows Vista, to be precise. I started posting this and ran into some problems, let's see if I can fix them.

Well I was checking out the Mama Monkeys blog and found a challenge on there. Since today I finally got to stamp, and I am in a real slumpy funk I thought I would use the challenge as a starting point. It is SBG1 challenge #1. Make an black and blue card. Here is my entry and I'm glad I did it because I really got a kick out of it.

Cards with Matching Envelopes

We had a wonderful turnout for the envelope making class on October 25th at the LSS. We had such fun, and this time I also got to actually do some envelopes for myself for a change. Then this week I saw the challenge on SCS for making the cards with the freezer paper and since I had the envelopes already made I made cards to match. The white flowery card was made using the freezer paper and tissue paper. The Leaf card and envelope was made using a napkin and plastic wrap as I wanted a yellowish background for the inside of the envelope not white. They were such fun to make and will be going to a couple of my pen pals. I am sooooooooooooo behind with my Pen Pal cards!!!

The lace edging for the white card was made using the new Martha Stewart punch I received as a gift and gotta love those dewdrops. Such pretty colors.
The buttons on the leaf card are ones that I have had FOREVER. I believe that they are SU buttons. The tag is one a friend of mine gave me and I scanned it on the computer so that I could use it more than once. TFL!!!!

Love that Pink

Good afternoon everyone. Daylight savings time. Oh joy! I finally got to photograph some of my more recent cards and uploaded some to SCS which I haven't done in a while. This one is my favorite of the most recent ones. I absolutely LOVE the new Pink Pirouette. It is so soft. I did NOT however like the new pink ribbon. Too wide for my taste so I bought some white grosgrain and dyed it to match. Actually came out very well.

My good friend LISA, gifted me with the stamp set I used and I really love it. Another friend, Mela, gifted me with the Martha Stewart Scallop punch, along with another Martha Stewart punch and a bunch of embellies that she got when her local Michaels moved to another location. Boy there's some really great stuff!! What pals! THANKS friends!!!!!!!

The trick to doing the scallops on boths sides, I found, is to punch one side, flip it over and punch exactly the same place on the other side then go from there. It makes the scallops even. Clear as mud?
