Happy Birthday CASE

Finally found a use for this DP. And the SU stamp set. I wanted it for so long and it took me forever to use it. It has only been used twice. Go figure. Love that I had buttons that match. Manly card?

Christmas Cards Oh Christmas Cards

I have been stamping my little hands off lately and getting nowhere! Here is a nice card using up some of my scraps sheets of paper. I had this raffia bow sitting around forever too. Nothing fancy, but I kinda like the way it came out

**thought for the day : Stress thrives when we allow the many voices in life to drown out the only voice that really matters, the voice of God. Even Jesus couldn't please everyone. Why do we think we can? ***

Have a great day!

Starbucks, Yum!!

We are giving a couple of Starbucks cards as gifts this year. I purchased them yesterday and the nice girl handed me the card in a really cute little bag. Crafter that I am, I thought, hmmmm, those would make cute card. I asked her for another bag, as I had 2 cards to make, and the nice girl gave me 4 for good measure.

I cut out a 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 square of Garden green, tore the bag to fit and glued it on the CS. Then I mounted that on a 5 x 5 kraft brown card base. Below is the inside of the card. I followed the theme by stamping branches, using the SU Fantastic Foliage stamp set, in Versamark and embossing with White Embossing powder. I adhered a strip of green CS with Merry Christmas stamped on it to the bottom and tucked the Starbucks gift card in there. So fast, so simple.

Christmas Gift bows and Tags

Woohoo!!! I finally started my Holiday stamping and gift making. I purchased a WHOLE lot of ribbon when I went to Costco one day. It comes in rolls of 50 yards so I will be using this forever!!! Seriously, I have some I bought 9 years ago and it is still going strong. I am, however, sharing these with my sisters so it will go faster. I made this Red and gold Poinsietta and the Gold holly bows with the matching tags. This tag is 3x3 and the gold one is 3 1/2 x 3 1/2.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIE!

Happy birthday to my pen pal Julie!!! Just love the Oct 31 stamp I found at Joanne's. I used it only once and sent it to Julie as a gift (slightly used, but for a good cause) since I do not celebrate Halloween

Happy Sunday. Another day, another posting.

This is a BD card I made for my Pen Pal friend who currently resides in Japan. I had the opportunity to not only meet her last weekend, but to give her the card in person. Yes, it was late, as usual.

I used a beautiful paper that another friend had given me years ago, and that I had been hoarding forever. I thought it fitting, as she is the ultimate paper hoarder and she can appreciate the gesture.
Cardstock: SU Lavendar Lace, Artichoke, Black.
Stamps: Crane, Unknown, bought at a stamp convention, HB Penny Black
Accessories: gems from Walmart, Pearl Ex, Veramark and Gold embossing Powder.

Challenges

I have been doing the challenges these past couple of days and here is the product of my labors. The Friday Limited Supplies Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers (SCS) was a Girlie Girl card and the Inspiration challenge on Saturday inspired the flowery card.
My next mission in life is to try to stay away from flowers for awhile which will be difficult as the majority of my stamps are flowers. Let's see how I do. Thanks for looking.

A brotherly birthday

It has been soooooooooo long since I posted. It has been an extremely busy summer and now that I don't get every other Friday off from work there doesn't seem to be any time for anything. I stamped a little the other day and made two cards for my younger brother's birthday today. One for me to give him and one for one of my sister's to give him.

I think it is pretty obvious that my younger brother is a Pittsburg Steeler fan (yuck). I made this card for one of my sisters to give him as she bought him a Steeler blanket. The word Steelers is computer generated, the circle and shadow cut on my Cricut, as are the triangles and the Happy Birthday. I used the Scor-pal to score lines on the black. All in all it was a fast easy card once the plan came together.

He also collects Coca Cola things just like I do so my card to him is a Coca Cola Card. I will have to photograph it tomorrow I hope then upload it. Thanks for looking.

Another life is a beach card. Life is a Beach Cartridge, gonna love this one

It has been so long since I posted anything, I am so glad I got to work on some cards. My stamping has fallen by the wayside as I have been busy playing with the quilling and experimenting with my new Cricut Expression. I made this card using the Wild Card Cartridge. The cartridge has soooooo many features it will take me a year just to go through it. The flowers were made using my scallo scissors, cut in a circle then quill. The Life is a Beach Cartridge has the flip flops and I made a couple of flip flop cards. For this one I used the little butterflys my friend, thanks Lesley, from Australia sent me. The sentiment is handwritten.

I was asked about the stamp I used to do the Quilled Rose. This shows the stamp I carved, the stamped image and the image cut out ready for quilling. You just follow the white line around and around with your scissors. It leaves a little base at the end that the flower will rest on once it is quilled Then you insert the outer tip of the image into the slot of the quilling tool and just wind round and round.

Here is the finished rose. Just slip it up off the slot and set it down. The flower sits on its base all by itself. I generally put a drop of Mono Multi glue on the very center at the base to hold it in place. That's all there is to it.

Quilling Tags and Cards.

Tags, tags and more Tags. I am just so into this tag making. When I will ever use them I don't know, I will probably end up giving the tags as gifts.

I am still quilling. Big surprise. I should say I am still using the many quilled flowers I have made in the past week. Now this first one is NOT quilled but it is a tag. Using some of the Designer Paper a cousin gave me and some teeny tiny buttons I found in a jar on my shelf. I did this tag freehand. Not a good idea. They come out much better cut on the Cricut; and so much easier too. Just set it and zippo, presto, a tag and perfectly matching shadow is made.

For this one I used my Cuttlebug die to cut out the "it's a boy", and my Scor-pal to score accent lines above and below the words. Here is the whole set I made this weekend. I love that I am using my fiber and ribbon. I uploaded this out of sequence but didn't want to go back and re do it. Oh well.
I love the look of this one. I went outside the box colorwise. I am so not into brights, but the DP just happened to match two roses that I had made and miracle of miracles, ribbon to match. This was cut on the Cricut using the George Cartridge tag #1 and the shadow for the tag at 3 1/2 inches. The leaves are the Martha Stewart Rose leaf punch and the branch punch

Tag is cut with the Cricut George cartridge also but at 4 1/2 inches. I used my new Quickutz
"Stripe Frame" embossing folder. Quilled flower and crystals and ribbon from Walmart. SU sentiment.

another 4 1/2 inch Tag, quilled fringed flowers, the DP doesn't show up very well but it truly adds to the piece.

A Quilling we will go

Greetings everyone. It has been so long since I posted. We have been so busy lately, going places visiting people, and having company here. I haven't had a chance to stamp or create anything for a long time.
While I was away visiting, one of my cousins gave me a book on quilling. She had thought it said "Quilting" and bought it by mistake. Well, she knew I could use it, so she very nicely passed it my way, and of course these two projects will be hers as a thank you.
I had done some quilling years ago, so I still have my tools, and I must say the Martha Stewart Rose punch and the branch punch sure work well with these pieces. The TONS of Fiber I bought and have never used will come in handy as I will be making lots of gift tags. Woohoo!!
The tag below is made using some scraps I had leftover from some DP I bought at the dollar store. I did the fringing by hand but would really like to purchase a fringer one day. Let's see how long my interest in this last though before I invest that much money. These roses have been hanging out in a little tin for years also. I am finally putting them to use. I went to a stamp convention where I bought the quilling tools and a set of carving tools. I carved a stamp of a flower to use for the quilling. How thrify was that? I love the pearls which come in strips with adhesive already on them. Makes them much easier to attach. They were a gift so now the task is to find out where I can get more.

Scallop Punch Flowers

I received a link to a youtube tutorial showing how to make flowers using the scallop punch so of course I had to try it out. Not too bad for a first try. I love the new craze for buttons! I bought another MS punch at Michaels on Saturday so of course I had to use that, let me say that the MS punches are NOT as durable as the SU punchs. I have had more problems with MS punches not working. I used Apricot appeal and Artichoke. CS for this
Love Pink Pirouette and Pomegranate together. This card uses the Swiss Dot EB folder, the button border folder, my nestabilities daisy leaves, Buttons and twine, scallop punch and SU sentiment.

Butterflys

More of the virtual stamping cards. I recently got a LOT of yummy stuff as gifts and also bought a lot of stuff (DP) myself and I just got a chance to use it. This just fell together so fast. I had embossed and pierced the 'thanks so much' when I got my SU brass stencil and so I built a card around it. Add a couple of butterflies punched with my MS butterfly punch, add some pearls I was given and there we have it. Later on that day I was pondering what to do with the 2 tiny pieces of DP I had left over and the two 3x3 cards were born. Also had a lattice punch edge I had messed up so I cut that up and used it on the cards. I am still planning to add some buttons or flowers to dress up the little cards and add a card using So Saffron on the bottom. Will probably make a set of six and a little box to have on hand to give away as a gift. We'll see. TFL!!!!

Another Card from Virtual Stamping Day

This Iris has been hanging out in a box for YEARS! I finally made a card with it! YAY for me!! When I was really young my mom use to make flowers for the ladies at church using Wood Fiber and she use to make these orchids that this flower reminds me of. I am giving it to her for mother's day so I hope she likes it and it reminds her of those days. TFL!

Virtual Stamping

How wonderful. A stamping weekend!! My friend Julie and I hooked up via Skype and spent 3 hours stamping. I actually got 4 cards done. Here is my first one, Sugar Nellie Daisy that my super Pen Pal SISTAH Connie, sent me.
It was a really enjoyable time because I always stamp alone and it was nice to be able to ask an opinion on embellishments or color. I actually got stuff together faster than usual.

Stickers are cool

I love this sticker. I just kind of built the images around the sticker. I have no recollection of where I aquired this book of Thank You stickers but at least I am finally using them. Balsa CS, Love the Prima's and my new pearls!

CAS weekend

It was a Clean and simple day yesterday. Using some of my new stuff. Looks like buttons on every card for a while!! LOL This card started out to be even more simple but I stamped the sentiment crooked so I stamped it again on another piece of cardstock to cover it up!

This is for my sister who gave me several little spools of the gingham ribbon. Love the clean and simple, and the button is chipboard from the Michaels $1.00 bin around 25 different button shapes.

I'm BACK!!! I recently took a trip down to the valley, (we live in the mountains) to visit family for my birthday. I got the Sugar Nellie stamp that I wanted and I forgot to put it the picture! (bummer dude!) I will post when I actually make a card with it.

Full Moon

I was on my way to work this morning and this is the sight I saw driving down the road. Isn't pretty? I just happened to have my camera with me. I took a full shot then I zoomed in on it. There is a lot of snow still up on the mountain and I just could not believe how big the moon was. I took three shots and then it disappeared behind the mountain. AHHHHHHH!!!
