Another Card

I posted this in my gallery on Splitcoast because it fit into one of the Dirty Girl challenges that Julie HRR put out. I have had a lot of positive comments on it. Of course I made it specifically for one of my Pen Pals, who loves Pink like I do. LOL!Now I just have to mail it. I am also set to do a class in September at the Scrapbook Garden and this will be one of the cards that we will do along with the card CASED that Crystal sent me. They all want to learn the Faux DP technique. I originally learned that technique using chalks and to me it is faster than sponging with inks.

More Wildlife

Here we have some baby quail. There are around 20 or so, apparently 2 hatches because there are 2 different sizes. The tiny ones stay mainly in the bushes and I tried to get their picture but they are too fast. The older ones are less leery. There are 2 males and one female adults. We have a great time watching them. Watch out for the Humming Bird Circus. These Hummers are soooooo funny to watch. They fight and zoom about. I was sitting on the front porch taking these pictures and they zoomed so close to Bill's face I thought they were attacking him. Early morning and late evening they put on a heck of a show. They go through the whole bottle in a day and we have to refill every morning. We don't bother putting red food color in the water as they seem to find it ok without it.

Wildlife at Bear Gulch

We were sitting on the front porch watching the hummingbirds. They're coming in for a landing. They are out of food but don't know it yet. There were 5 of them fighting for a spot. The second picture was taken from inside the house after we had filled the feeder back up. They were thirsty I guess. I caught 2 of them feeding with another one coming in.

Faux DP

My Pen Pal Crystal sent me the most beautiful card! I loved it so much I had to figure out how she did it. Pretty simple technique. Tear a piece of paper or cardstock (I used scrap paper) and lay it wherever you decide you want the edge to be. Sponge color along the edge of the paper. Once you have the edge or edges done, fill in the rest of the blank area by sponging color. I used Mellow Moss and Groovy Guava. My Mellow Moss pad was a little dry so it did not come out as dark as the Guava. I used the SU "Merci" stamp set to stamp the butterfly and flower in Black, then I added dots just wherever I felt it looked empty. I made one prior to this one and didn't wait for the dots to dry, consequently I smeared it when I tried to put it together and had to start over. Live and learn!!!!!

A quick card. I used a piece of a paper bag I got from the LSS. It just happened to go with the "Hi there" I had in my box of unused stuff. A ribbon and presto! A card.

Cased Card

This an exact case of a Card I saw on SCS. I will look for it and come back and give credit where credit is due, but this card made me rethink River Rock. I wasn't crazy about it but it looks so cool with Navy and with Black.

A KITTYCAT FOR KITTYKAT

This is the card I made for my Pen Pal Connie S. A Kitty Cat for KittyKat! Love those House Mouse Stamps.

Oldies but Goodies

The 1st and 2nd card are examples of my tatted flowers, made years ago. I was watching Carol Duvall one day and there was a lady on there demonstrating how to TAT. Well, thank goodness that it was a recorded segment because I was able to rewind and rewind until I got the hang of doing the flowers. I later ordered a book and got into a little bit more advanced stuff but that was a lot later. The reason I am showing them here is because I sent one of my Pen Pals some of these little tatted flowers and this is a good example of how I used them.

While I was looking through my stuff for those examples I saw the buzzard card. I made this for one of my sisters for her birthday and the reason I liked it was because it was my first attempt at drawing. I was looking at the Stamps by Judith website and really liked that stamp. Well I didn't have the stamps and it was too close to her birthday to order them so I drew them. I have never been able to duplicate the little buzzard, how weird is that? Any way she got a big kick out of it and I was really pleased to discover once I got past my "perfectionist" concept that it had to be EXACTLY like what I was copying I was ok. Thanks for looking!

Yellow TAC card

Well good day everyone. It has been a very hectic day here. I am taking a short break and thought I would upload one of the cards I made this weekend.

I have a pack of TAC Designer Paper. I just love it and I will be sorry when I run out. This is a really simple card which I made for a friend of mine. She sent me a bunch the white flowers with yellow centers and yellow brads in the middle, for my birthday, so I thought it only fitting that I use it to make her a card.

I really need to get out of this flower mode,of course since most of my stamps are flowers, what am I going to do? Hopefully this weekend I can use some of my new Penny Black stamps and some of the fabulous images my Pen Pals have sent me.

Criss Cross Card

This card was made a long time ago when the Criss Cross cards were on one of the challenges. Of course I didn't have time to finish it at the time and it sat in my box of scraps for ages. I FINALLY made the time to finish it and it sat another few weeks doing nothing. I am going to send it out to someone soon! The center portion that pulls out is looking a little blank, however I haven't figured out what to do about it. Do I just write on that portion? Or do I stamp Hi There? We'll see!

Pink Umbrella

I worked on this card this weekend and finally finished it. I had cut out the umbrella and tag a long time ago. Had the idea just couldn't make it work. Finally, it came together. I love PINK! Another scrap used, I love it!!!!

Teapot

My cute little Teapot. Again I am using my already colored images. I drew this little teapot a long time ago and I decided to use it for the Ways to Use it Challenge WT183. Used my Scor Pal to score little squares along the Pink panel. I have a boxful of Business cards that have a missprinted phone number on them. They sent me new ones, but they are printed on really good cardstock. So when ever I see an image I like, I doodle it on an old card and save it. I have a whole boxful now and am slowly using them.

OOOOOH! Nice Buck

Look what was in our yard today! Bill opened the front door and it startled both him and them! I think they were headed to our fountain to drink. The doe went running in the other direction so I didn't get a picture of her but this guy was not camera shy. He even turned so I could see him sideways. Must have known it is not hunting season yet.

Embrace Life Birthday Card

I love this layout. I found the two sided cardstock at the LSS in town. Cameo Coral was a little too dark to match so I watered it down with the Aquabrush. The oval was a leftover from the card I made my mother for her birthday and it worked well with the rest of the colors. Used the slit punch to hold the inner card in place.

Pen Pal Variety

I am still working diligently from my box of already stamped images. I had stamped these SU Petal prints images in different colors to match the chiffon ribbons I have. Then they sat there. And sat there. And sat some more. I used the first one to make Carol's Birthday card, now here are some more.

I still have around eight more to use so I will be producing more. Of course, I TRIED to make them the same. Alas, I could not.

There are close up photos below.

I hope the Pen Pals enjoy them. You don't know which one you'll get !
