Bowl of Stupid

The card for today is hilarious. I have a cousin whose favorite saying is "Are you stuck on stupid?" When I saw this image of Maxine in an email, saying "did you have an extra bowl of stupid?" I knew I just had to make a card for my cuz. I don't know if they make stamps of Maxine so I drew her and computer generated the saying. The image is cut out so perhaps you can tell I screwed it up a bit and had to cover up by cutting it out!!! Hope she likes it!

I put an insert on the bottom so that she can stand it up on her desk. What a hoot.

Whoooooooo!!!

I received the Owl Embossing folder for Christmas from my Kota's Pen Pals Secret Sister. Hope she likes the results.

I am continuing with my card a day. I manged to finish this one and made 5 valentines cards today!!! I had a request to make some for a hospital for children that are suffering from various serious illness. My main problem is that I don't have many stamps or ideas for children's cards. Let's hope I can make do with hearts and such.

I Love You Card

The challenge is to make a card a day (Thanks alot Lisa!). It is not always possible, but I am having fun trying. Here is yesterday's card. I found this DP and thought the colors were masculine even though there are flowers, they are not "cutesey". This is what I came up with after working on it on and off all day. Don't you hate it when housework gets in the way? I had to do laundry in between stamping.LOL!!!
I found a Spellbinders die set of a heart shaped lock and a key that I had gotten quite a while ago, so my theme became I love you. I will handwrite a sentiment, like maybe, you hold the key to my heart?

I utilized a little strip of DP that was leftover, on the inside. I normally leave the inside of my cards blank because I never know who or what I am going to use the card for. Since I made this specifically for my DH, I went ahead and completed the inside. I love the key, and I love that I had fibers to match the colors of the DP.

I just may make a bookmark using the remaining DP and fibers. What do you think? Something that says Books are Your Key to Adventure?

Thinking of You Flower Soft

It is already Wednesday, I can't believe it. The weather is still yucky but that's ok, I can stamp away.

My DH gave me 3 jars of Flower Soft for Christmas. His favorite color is blue so of course he got me some Blue Flower Soft!! I had the Scallop Circle cut out for a long time in my scraps box also the circle (Cut on the Cricut, I don't remember what cartridge) I love the softness of this. The button is from a bag I bought at the Scrapbook store we visited during my trip to San Francisco to meet 3 of my Kota's Pen Pal buddies!!

Sympathy Cards

Happy Tuesday. The weather is still dreary, and it is suppose to get worse for California in the next 2 days. So far nothing too horrible, Praise the Lord.

Today's card is a sympathy card using a DCWV textured Cardstock. I punched out the flowers using a MS flower punch. Stamped the stems with the SU Petal Prints Set so I would have a pattern to glue the petals on. Used White Liquid Pearls for the centers, and SU's Piercing template for the piercing. SU Warmest Regards for the sentiment, and the Cricut Jasmine Cart for the oval.
This is the inside of the card. MS scallop edge punch, MS flower punch and Hero arts sentiment stamp.

Happy Monday!!! I am trying to look beyond the yucky weather we are having, although, Praise the Lord, it is only raining and not storming. It is just so overcast and dreary it is hard to be upbeat. The first card posted does not look anything like it looks like IRL. It has vibrant Pearl Ex colors that look really drab in the photo. The center image is a small CB embossing folder. The raised image is colored with Pearl Ex. The photo corners were dabbed with different Pearl ex colors then cut out, and the green crystals are a really beautiful emeral color. I might try scanning this to see if it comes out any better. This Birthday card is for one of my traveling cousins. We have gone on 4 cruises together and she has traveled rather extensively throughout her life so it seems fitting .

Lavendar mode

I downloaded this digi image (Mel Stampz free digi images). I am not a fan of digi images because I am not a patient person when it comes to trying to figure out how to get them to print the size I want. It is so much easier to stamp, it's done, got what I want. Now if I had a printing guru sitting beside me telling me exactly what to do, that's a different story. Anywho, I eventually liked what I got. The photo does not do it justice (another thing I have no patience with figuring out, taking decent photo's) I colored the flowers with a pearl colored Pearl Ex and it really does look better IRL. The green strip is stamped with the Linen BG stamp and you can't tell here. Ah Well. I found a really cute ribbon at Wal Mart the other day and just had to use it in a card. I actually bought it to decorate something else. The Pinking circle and plain circle really worked well for this and used my new Embossing Folder. Can you tell I was in the Lavendar, green and white mode?

Thanks for looking!

Birthday, Birthday, Easy Peasy!

I just love this background CS. It is from the SEI Mimosa pack. The picture just doesn't show the shimmery colors . This was a simple card. I already had the BG cut out to size as it didn't work out for another project, the white piece was cut out also. Just added the 2 flowers with the pearls and the Embossed the sentiment. I was sooooooo tempted to add more to it but I resisted the temptation. Again Easy Peasy was the way to go. I had the HB all cut out, the BG scrap came from who knows where, stamped the sentiment and embossed and there it was!!!

ALOHA fun Card

Good Evening everyone. Alas, no stamping today. House cleaning and cake baking only. Don't you just hate it when your DH insists that the house has to be cleaned? I am not grumbling, really. He does half of it so I have no reason to complain, and he does the part I hate, the kitchen and the bathrooms.

I did really get to stamp the other day as well as color the image. I have been so busy using all my new stuff like the Cricut expression and the many CB folders and punches I received for Christmas that I have neglected just plain old stamping.

This card of course using all, my new CB folder, the new Cricut Expression, the new Life is a Beach Cartridge and last but not least the new IPOD my DH got me for Christmas, while I stamped. Woohoo, happiness everywhere!!! Thanks for looking

(I have also uploaded all these cards on SCS should anyone wish to know the receipe for the cards)

Birthday blues.

It's been a productive couple of days. Four cards, Woo Hoooooo!!! I will be greedy and post them one at a time because I did not stamp today and I can't tomorrow either, and there is also the fact that I only have a quick few minutes to post.

This card is nowhere near what I visualized when I started. I have been trying to get away from using flowers so much but these two started speaking to me quietly. Then they got really loud so I just had to shut them up. LOL!!! The label punch sentiment came abpit because I put a big ole smudge there and had to cover it up. The frame is also another boo boo. It is suppose to say Birthday girl in the middle but I tore it when I took it off the Cricut sticky mat (new mat, have to be careful)

So, now you know that creativity has a way of nudging you the way it wants to go rather where YOU think it should go. I had loads of fun and frustration making this card, hope you enjoy looking at it.

And the Thanks continue!

Here are four more Thank You cards. It should have been 5 but I had so much trouble uploading these I gave up on the fifth one. I will give it a try tomorrow.
This sunflower image has been hanging out on my desk FOREVER!!! I am glad to finally get it used !!
I kind of messed this one up, those clear acrylics are hard to stamp with, for me anyway. They don't seem to line up straight and I even have a graph acrylic block. Guess it just takes practice!!! Love the butterflys that Aussie Babe sent me!!! I used liquid pearls for the centers to match the flower.
I used the new Flower soft that my wonderful DH bought me for Chrismas on the next two cards, and the new MS edge punch I bought with a Michaels gift card I was given.

Thank You Cards Galore!

Good morning everyone!!! It is a balmy 42 degrees outdoors. I say balmy because it has been in the teens lately here in the mountains of Northern California. Hopefully the sun will be out sometime today but it is suppose to rain or snow so we'll see.

I have been working on Thank You cards lately. I didn't know I had so many Thank You stamps and dies, what a surprise. I have been on a roll, 8 cards in 3 days!!! Woohoo!!! (for me that is HUGE)

I have also been using images and things I already had colored and cut out as in the 1st card. I love the fruit in Stampin'Ups Thanksgiving Blessings. I colored them with chalk which looks soft IRL. This DP is from s.e.i Mimosa Paper pack and the SU Cute and Curly punch and stamp set. Easy peasy.Another Easy Peasy card, Ribbon, flower, button and a Thanks die from Provo Craft. There are 4 different Thank You dies and a flower on one plate. I had forgotten I had it. Too much stuff as my DH would say!!

Happy Birthday die cut

Happy New Year everyone. I am still trying to photograph and post all my cards. I am really liking this leisure thing. I have an order for Thank You cards and All occaision cards so I am busy creating. I will also be posting the rest of the Christmas cards I made. Here is a simple Burgundy and white birthday card. I love this die and embossing combo and the ribbon I found at Joannes I think.
